Birthday Sunflowers

Sunflower arrangements and birthday flowers with a balloon

Best Day Birthday Bouquet is the one to send when you want the whole package: sunflowers and roses in a clear glass vase with a Happy Birthday balloon rising above them. Floral Embrace and Petals Embrace mix sunflowers with roses and lilies for a bouquet that keeps opening all week, Fields of Europe for Fall adds daisies and autumn tones, and Regal Wrap is a hand-tied bouquet in kraft paper, with roses, alstroemeria, larkspur and delphinium, for someone who already owns a favorite vase. Every design is handcrafted by a florist delivering fresh stems from their own cooler, so the exact blooms shown in the picture may vary a little with the season while the style, the warmth and the size stay the same. Sunflowers stand for adoration, loyalty, love and positivity, and a touch of joy that few other flowers manage, and they are the traditional third anniversary flower, so they are an ideal and near-perfect choice for a partner, a parent or a friend whose birthday falls in sunflower season, which runs from late summer through fall. For a sunflower theme party, add a second bouquet for the table; the balloon delivery page has the rest of the decorations.

Pick a delivery date, or get them there today

Select a delivery date at checkout or leave it on today; enter the ZIP code, verify the address and continue to checkout, and the freshest sunflowers of the day are on their way. Order by 2:00 PM Monday to Friday or 12:45 PM on Saturday, in the recipient's local time, and a florist near them designs the arrangement from our recipe and hand-delivers it that day, in water. Add your card message in the cart; the florist prints it and tucks it into the flowers, and you receive an email confirmation with the date. Sunflowers are a seasonal crop, so if a florist is unable to get sunflowers on a given day they make substitutions with blooms of equal or greater value in the same colors and let us know. The how delivery works page has the details on substitutions, cutoffs, store pickup for local orders and office deliveries, and if there is ever a problem with an order or questions about an item, contact us by phone or email and a person at James Cress Florist sorts it out with the information in your purchase confirmation. The photos on each product page show the design the florist follows, in the size named under the picture.

Sunflower care

Sunflowers are heavy drinkers with heavy heads. Use a tall vase, fill it to the top, change the water every two days and re-trim the stems each time to ensure they keep drinking. Keep the arrangement out of direct sun indoors and close the blinds on a hot afternoon, and expect a week of good looks from the sunflowers while the roses and lilies around them carry on. If one head starts to droop, cut the stem shorter and stand it in deep water overnight; it is a surprising amount of water that a sunflower can take back in.
