Who we are
James Cress Florist is a family-run florist with shops on Long Island and a national flower delivery company built on more than a century of hands-on floral craft. Founded in Manhattan in 1903, the shop moved out to Long Island and became a fixture of the Smithtown, Commack and Port Jefferson communities, where our own designers still make and hand-deliver arrangements every day.
Depending on where your order is going, flowers arrive one of two ways. Near our shops, our own team designs and delivers them, same day when you order by the cutoff. Anywhere else in the United States, a trusted local florist near your recipient arranges and hand-delivers the design, or the flowers ship fresh and direct from our growers. Every path meets the same standard: fresh stems, a real designer, and a 100% Smile Guarantee.
Fresh from the farm
Because of our size we buy directly from farms, which keeps prices fair and flowers lasting longer. Roses, lilies, hydrangeas and seasonal blooms come in daily, and our buyers know the growers by name.
Weddings and events
Our standalone design studio and wedding center on Long Island is where we produce weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs and corporate events for clients across Long Island and the New York metro area. Gourmet gift baskets, too
When flowers are not the whole story, we carry bakery boxes, fruit, cheese and wine baskets from our gift basket partners. Baskets ship by carrier anywhere in the country; florist cutoffs do not apply to them.
