Hortensias de cumpleaños

Blue hydrangeas, white hydrangeas, purple and green

Blue hydrangeas are the best sellers here, and the stunning hydrangeas in every one of these designs are chosen for natural beauty rather than stem length. Gems sets them among roses, spray roses, thistle and lisianthus, Clear Skies Bouquet pairs voluminous hydrangea with blue belladonna delphinium for a calm, elegant design, and Alice brings roses, lilies and hydrangea together in red and white. Purple hydrangeas carry Purple Rain and Vibrant Violets, white hydrangeas soften Blushing Beauty Bouquet beside hot pink roses and blush lilies, and green hydrangeas give Gathering Gratitude and Golden Eye their garden feel. In the language of flowers hydrangeas stand for gratitude and heartfelt emotions, so they suit a birthday bouquet for a parent, a mentor or a friend whose friendship carried you through the year. They are also the traditional fourth wedding anniversary flower, a nice touch when the birthday and the anniversary fall close together, and they turn up in congratulations and party arrangements for the same reason: one vase of hydrangeas reads as an event and a sign that someone took the special occasion seriously.

Hydrangea arrangements with roses and lilies

Hydrangeas rarely travel alone in these designs. White roses and pink roses add shape and vibrant colors, lilies add height and a little fragrance, sunflowers and seasonal blooms join in the fall, and the hydrangea heads fill every gap between them, so even the smallest size looks like a luxury flower arrangement on arrival and makes a lasting impression as the perfect gift for a loved one. Mixed designs also age well: the roses and lilies often outlast the hydrangea, and the florist's greenery holds the display together for the whole week. Shades vary with the season, because fresh hydrangeas are cut to order and the exact blue or purple depends on what is in the cooler, so the picture on the product page is a guide to the design rather than a promise of a single shade.

Hydrangeas flower delivery, the same day

Order by 2:00 PM Monday to Friday or 12:45 PM on Saturday, in the recipient's local time, and a florist near them designs the arrangement from our recipe and hand-delivers it that day, in a vase with water, never carefully packed in a dry box. Hydrangeas are thirsty flowers and do not travel well by carrier, which is exactly why a local florist makes them and carries them to the doorstep. Choose any date at checkout if the birthday is still a week away, add your card message, and see how delivery works for office, school and hospital deliveries.

Keeping cut hydrangeas fresh: tips that prolong their life

Hydrangeas drink through their petals as well as their stems. Keep the vase full of clean water, top it up daily, and mist the heads if the room is warm; a little new growth of fresh color in the center of each head is a good sign that the flowers are drinking. If a head wilts, re-trim the stem, submerge the whole bloom in cool water for half an hour, and it usually comes back; what looks dead at breakfast is often standing again by lunch. Kept out of direct sun, a hydrangea arrangement lasts five to seven days on average, and the roses and lilies beside it often go longer. Stem length matters less than freshness here, so do not worry about cutting the stems short to fit a favorite vase; a short, suitable vase that holds plenty of water is the star of the show. Nothing arrives in a cardboard package, so there is nothing to unpack beyond the card.
